RECENT SOCIAL UNREST, economic challenges, and growing divisions among racial and social groups have become increasingly prominent in the context of the current cost-of-living crisis, with many individuals struggling to afford basic necessities, write Recovery Code X Director and social commentator, AMIT SHENMAR

The socio-political climate remains tense, marked by uncertainties surrounding patriotism, civil liberties, and spiritual cohesion. Furthermore, the proliferation of clickbait media and anxieties related to artificial intelligence fuel concerns about potential job displacement due to technological advancements.

As a third-generation British Asian male, born in the United Kingdom and deeply appreciative of this country, where my grandfather served in the British Commonwealth Army, I take pride in advocating for some of society's most marginalized communities. However, the escalation of racially motivated incidents has significantly impacted the well-being of minority groups, including myself. This evolving environment underscores the thin line between national pride and the risk of it manifesting as intolerance or discord. More than ever, unity is essential in dispelling divisive rhetoric and promoting inclusivity.

At Recovery Code X, we express our sincere gratitude to all who have supported and benefited from our services over the years. Our organisation remains dedicated to assisting individuals affected by Complex Trauma and C-PTSD (Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder). It is important to recognise that trauma transcends distinctions of race, creed, or background and can affect any community.

Recovery Code X will continue its commitment to supporting all sectors of the community.

Yours sincerely,

Amit Shenmar
