Analisa Borneo, Managing Director
Analisa is the founder and Managing Director of Recovery Code X. She oversees the strategy and vision of Recovery Code X, and manages projects, working closely with partnership organisations and stakeholders. She is committed to the research and development of new peer-led therapeutic programs for adults who endured childhood trauma, exploitation and domestic abuse. Her life changed dramatically for the better when she realised that she was struggling with normal responses to trauma and embarked on a life-changing journey of healing and recovery. She is passionate about creating awareness of Complex PTSD to give hope to others. Analisa is training as a trauma-informed integrated complementary therapist bringing together talking therapies and holistic shamanic approaches. Analisa previously had a career in marketing and journalism.
Aman Jhalli, Finance Director
Aman has over 20 years’ financial accounting experience within the NHS where he worked his way up to Associate Director level. He is a Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) and Head of Financial Accounting at an NHS Foundation Trust with responsibility for managing a large team. He advises on Recovery Code X’s financial strategy and uses his knowledge to ensure high standards of management accounting. He is focused on building strong platforms for business development and growth within the organisation. He is passionate about charity work. Within his day-job he is the Lead Finance Officer for the charity arm of his organisation. It is important to him to give-back to the immediate public, and his post at Recovery Code X further adds to this sense of occupational wellbeing.
Amit Shenmar, Director
Amit is an experienced NHS facilitator, mentor and trainer. He provides group facilitation and safeguarding skills training for Recovery Code X, drawing on social care roles in the statutory and non-statutory sectors. He brings over ten years experience working in drug and alcohol misuse. Amit is our Safeguarding Lead overseeing the setting and implementation of health and welfare policies. He is well versed in building recovery in the community through client engagement and building links with external agencies such as educational training providers and CMHTs (Community Mental Health Teams).
His passion for helping others is driven by his own experience of overcoming addiction, the impacts of childhood abuse and trauma. Amit provides pre-diagnostic support for people awaiting an autism diagnosis in the Luton, Bedfordshire, and Milton Keynes area. Previous mentoring roles have demonstrated his ability to guide probation clients from a life of crime, low aspiration and trauma to full time employment and abstinence.
Jacqui Finnigan, Clinical Supervisor
Jacqui is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist, HCPC Registered Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. She is well trained in CBT, ACT, DBT, CFT, mindfulness and EMDR. Jacqui specialises in Schema Therapy and is certified as an Advanced Schema Therapist, with the International Society of Schema Therapy.
She has 16 years’ experience of working with clients with psychological difficulties including complex trauma, anxiety, chronic depression, eating disorders and relationship difficulties.
She has worked across the NHS and private settings in trauma services, specialist eating disorders and staff psychological services, this includes working as a therapist and in senior management positions.
Jacqui is passionate about mind and body integration. She has practiced yoga intensively for over 28 years. She uses this to listen to her body, increase her awareness of physical sensations and be more attuned to how her body responds to emotional triggers. She is completing teacher training on embodied yoga.
Melanie Tomsett, Teacher, Counsellor, Facilitator
Melanie Tomsett BSc Hons (Homeopathy) is an experienced shamanic practitioner, teacher, counsellor and homeopath. Her shamanic education began in 1991 under the guidance of the late author and teacher, Kenneth Meadows, a key facilitator of the reintroduction of Shamanism to the UK. Ten years ago, Melanie founded Shamanic Quest to run her private practice, courses and workshops.
Melanie realised she had Complex PTSD while undertaking her own journey to heal her life. Her experiences and learning, deeply inform and underpin her continuing work to help others regain their personal power, strength and resilience.
People who attend Melanie's groups and courses are surprised by her warmth and kindness. They feel held, can talk honestly and openly about important topics, and leave having made good connections.
Melanie joins Recovery Code X to support others on their journey of recovery from Complex PTSD, facilitate groups and share her knowledge of the psychological and holistic health benefits of shamanic practices.
Dr Polina Lukanova, Psychological Support Advisor
Polina is a HCPC registered counselling psychologist. Her theoretical and practical training includes person-centred, relational, psychodynamic, and CBT frameworks. She has experience of working in a variety of settings such as non-profit organisations, public and private sectors. Polina has worked with a variety of presenting difficulties, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, life transitions, bereavement, attachment and relational difficulties, ADHD, and chronic nightmares.
She approaches her work from a trauma-informed perspective with a heightened awareness of the specific difficulties and needs that clients may have as a result of past or ongoing trauma. Due to her clinical and personal experience of trauma, she has a first-hand understanding of the complex and pervasive impact that it can have on a person's sense of self, sense of safety in the world, and efforts to cope.
